Bank robbery averted by teller telling the robber that the bank was closed and to come back tomorrow.

CHICAGO (CBS) — An alleged bank robber and a would-be robber have appearances in federal court Wednesday, after, police say, both returned to the scene of their crimes.

As WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports, as the FBI tells it, Olga Perdomo showed up to the Albany Bank and Trust in the 3400 block of West Lawrence Avenue around 5 p.m. this past Thursday, wearing pajama bottoms and a hooded jacket, according to a Chicago Tribune report. She handed the teller a note saying, “All of your money, no cops, no dye pack,” according to a criminal complaint.

But the teller told Perdomo the bank was closed, and she would have to come back tomorrow. So she left, the complaint said.

Perdomo did not return the following day, but she did end up appearing at the same bank again. On Monday, a bank maintenance employee who’d seen video footage of the previous bank thefts recognized Perdomo outside the bank and called police, the complaint said.
