In a third day of fiery rhetoric the North Korean regime today threatened its neighbour South Korea with war if Seoul joined a new round of tightened UN sanctions.
Pyongyang has reacted furiously to the new resolution yesterday stating that it would proceed with a “high-level” nuclear test in a move aimed at “arch-enemy” the US.

BEIJING, China – The United States and China have “achieved a very strong degree of consensus” on North Korea, US envoy Glyn Davies said Friday, January 25, after meetings in Beijing following Pyongyang saying it planned another nuclear test.
“We come here in the wake of some dramatic steps,” he told reporters in Beijing. Referring to the North’s earlier threat to take “physical counter-measures” against the South, he added that the comments were “troubling and counter-productive”.

North Korea has renewed its threat to carry out a third nuclear test in the latest in a series of bellicose warnings sparked by a tightening of UN sanctions, saying it’s the ‘demand of the people.’
‘A nuclear test is the demand of the people,’ said the Rodong Sinmun, the official daily newspaper of the ruling communist party on Saturday, in a signed commentary titled ‘We have no other option’.
