Chart: 84% Of Americans Don’t Think It’s Cool To Cheat On Tax Returns

In this new study from the IRS the overwhelming majority (84%) said no one should be allowed to cheat on tax returns, but this year twice as many said a little fibbing is fine compared to the same survey issued in 2010.

In 2011, 8% said people can cheat “as much as possible” on their return if they can get away with it, while only 4% felt the same the year before. That’s not a huge figure, but keep in mind that in the last eight years, the rate has never been higher than 5%.
