How The Deep State Weaponized Trump

by Daniel Carter
Leading up to the 2016 presidential election, candidate Trump galvanized millions of faithful supporters with a message against the Deep State. “Drain the swamp” was the motto he used to signify the coming destruction of the old and corrupt establishment. In the minds of many, this meant an “America first” policy; a policy that would include massive infrastructure spending, a crackdown on corrupt politicians like Hillary Clinton and a more sensible foreign policy. Unfortunately, this virtuous war against the Deep State was doomed before it even got off the ground. Not only is the Deep State still thriving in the Trump era, they have managed to turn the Trump presidency into an incredibly powerful weapon.
Noam Chomsky, a true expert on government propaganda, once said:

Because western societies are much less accepting of violence as a means of government control, the government must now use propaganda to herd their sheep. This is not a conspiracy theory. it’s out in the open for everyone to see, especially since Wikileaks leaked documents showing the collusion between the DNC and major media outlets. But even before Wikileaks’ revelations, an open (and un-brainwashed) mind could see the Deep State’s preferred narrative all over the mainstream media. Their foreign policy, economic and social agendas are all being pushed by the media.

President Trump invokes powerful emotions from people on both sides of the political spectrum. Those emotions can be used to manipulate your perception of the world for reasons most people will never understand.
Let’s examine the Russia hysteria for example. An NPR/PBS poll shows that 33% of Americans believe that Trump’s campaign had illegal dealings with Russia. Thirty-three percent may seem like a small number, but not if that 33% is the correct target (I.e. the political class). Also, the poll’s accuracy may be complete nonsense, but it still creates the desired perception. The Deep State knows the left hates Trump so much that they can use him to stir up hate for Russia as well. Why? Because Russia is an enemy of the US banking cartel and military industrial complex. They are working to dethrone the dollar as the world reserve currency, and they are complicating US plans for a pipeline through Syria. If a time comes when the US declares war on Russia, they will already have a crowd of useful idiots to support their decision.
The Deep State is also using the left’s hate for Trump to turn them against pro-freedom policies. Because Trump is against PC culture, the SJW left labels anything other than the PC narrative “hate speech.” In their simple minds, “hate speech” is equal to violence and must be banned. There is also an attack on free market principals. Because Trump is a scary capitalist, socialism must be the way to go. The Deep State is using the media to plant the idea the tax cuts are somehow inherently evil. I’ll be honest, I don’t know exactly what’s in the tax reform bill because I don’t have time to read hundreds of pages of legalese. I do know that the Deep State would never offer us the best option. However, it is the idea of economic freedom that is being destroyed by propaganda.
If you are a Trump supporter, don’t be so confident just because the left is being played for fools. Remember the missile attacks on Syria? Most of his supporters were behind that decision. Again, the Deep State wants you to hate Syria over a pipeline. Don’t let them fool you into supporting an attack on North Korea either. The Deep State wants to fight North Korea as a proxy war against China. Why? The petrodollar, of course. Trump’s administration has been controlled by the Deep State from day one. Steve Bannon admitted that in his 60 minutes interview.
Despite many people on both sides believing that they are fighting for a noble cause, they are actually fighting for the Deep State’s agenda. Trump was the controversial figure they needed to turn people’s emotions against them. Things are not always as they seem, especially when they are coming from the mainstream media. As a rule of thumb, I consider any editorializing by the mainstream media to be BS, unless proven otherwise. Keep digging for the truth and always think for yourself.
