I may as well make a few predictions for the new year:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Steelers win the Super Bowl (sorry, had to throw it in)
2. Netflix (NFLX) will have a strong Q1 with a drop off in q2, steady after that. q1 looking at $30-32
3. WMT will have a temporary increase in share price due to a strong holiday push, where as everyone else failed.
4. Dow will go to at least 5000, but probably lower, like 4200 on year. Then lower next year.
5. NYSE will tank. It will see 2800 by year end.
6. Bailouts are no where near done.
7. Delta Airlines will get bailed out, after its revealed that NWA was rotten.
8. Wells Fargo will have an enormous case of indigestion from eating Wachovia, it may even kill them.
9. Bank of America will get more government money. Merrill Lynch should have been dead 20 years ago.
10. Obama will not give people the change they expected. He will however make them sorry they voted for him. (that does not say much though as McCain voters would have regretted their choice too) (keep smiling)
11. Detroit will see massive riots. (nothing to smile about)
12. February will see some of Super Bowl Advertisers post big gains. But only briefly, as everyone will realize that they can’t keep spending money.
13. Commercial Real estate companies will be begging for money, filing for bankruptcy and vanishing in rapid succession by the end of July.
14. The nations largest mall owner (GGP, General Growth Properties) will either be dissolved through bankruptcy, or given government money, i.e. bailout. before Independence Day.
15. By year end, unemployment will be reported at 18%, and we will be told by large media, it really is not that bad, the depression was worse. The truth is, it will be more like 27% by year end, and reflect that in Jan 2010.
That should do it for now. I would like to be wrong about everything I said, with exception to the Steelers winning, NFLX gaining value (i bought same time last year at $14, sold at $35) and I hope that there is a splurge in revenue following Super Bowl spending, albeit, people should just keep their money.
Whatever this year brings, may God be with you all, your trading and endeavors be successful, and peace be with you. Good luck to you all.
