If I thought this “health care reform” was going to fix anything, I would say that it is needed.

The problem is it fixes NOTHING, taxes EVERYTHING and will shoot the cost of insurance (let alone service) through the roof.
My business has had our rates increased over 50% in two years, with NO claims for anything other than physicals. From the parts I have read of this legislation, our costs will go UP an ADDITIONAL 100% in 3 years or so (plus “standard” increases).
So, we will push our costs onto our employees (no sales, no profits, no room to “pay” for more).
Adding over TWO HUNDRED federal departments CAN’T decrease costs - name ONE department run in a cost efficient way that doesn’t screw the working man. Just one.
The taxes on Capital Gains, especially when combined with the expiration of the Bush tax cuts is going to hurt seniors and businesses the most. Look for a huge sell off right before the tax takes effect. Look for this to add to the existing commercial property/mortgage nightmare already coming our way.
Many who are commending this are going to be shocked when they find that the cost of EVERYTHING (except Chinese imports - the dollar falling will raise those for us). Look for FEWER jobs. Look for companies offering the same wages, but with no benefits.
The law of unintended consequences always prevails - especially with government programs.
After all, Congress “helped” seniors and now my dad has to live on less than $7k a year after his share of the costs. Could YOU live on that?
AND, after Congress “helped” us with “free trade” our socks got cheap and our jobs left.
Congress also “helped” us get out of debt by doubling our minimum monthly payments. The banks tripled our interest rates resulting in LESS debt being paid off.
If anyone thinks this “help” will work out any better, well then, I have a beautiful open, airy home in Detroit to sell you cheap.
