A lot of it is nonsense. Saddam Hussein had months to move his WMD’s out of the country. He could’ve prevented the war by allowing UN inspectors in and cooperating with them. We SAVED lives in Iraq based on the number of INNOCENT people that were being killed every year. The civilians murdered by the Iraqis who opposed the new regime aren’t the fault of the US. Neither are the civilians who died because the militants DELIBERATELY put them in harm’s way. But yes, the war was fought to protect the petro-dollar. That much is true.

“Saddam Hussein had months to move his WMD’s out of the country”
He had no WMD. Even GW Bush has publily admitted this.

“He could’ve prevented the war by allowing UN inspectors in and cooperating with them”
He did. Never heard of Hans Blix?

“We SAVED lives in Iraq based on the number of INNOCENT people that were being killed every year.”
US led sanctions were directly responsible for the deaths of 600,000 children. Madeline Albright publicly acknowledge this and said it was a ‘price worth paying’. Over 1 million Iraqis were killed by direct US military action.

Bill Sundling you are as ignorant as they come. Shame on you, shame on you Bill. There is no excuse for such ignorance. Why people like you feel they can post such abject nonsense is beyond my understanding. Shame on you.

Perhaps you’re forgetting the way Saddam Hussein was jerking around our inspectors. The weapons inspectors would come in the front gates of a facility and ariel photos would show Iraqi trucks leaving out of the back gates. Then it got to the point where our inspectors were being hassled and blocked from inspecting. And let’s not forget that Hussein kicked out the inspectors in the first place, years before, in violation of the surrender agreement. So it gets quite tiring always hearing about the big bad USA and what an angel Saddam Hussein was. It was his actions that led events. And to this day we still don’t know what was in those trucks that were spotted leaving Iraq and going to the Bakkah Valley. So perhaps you need to stop calling others ignorant.

They were not “your” inspectors they were the United Nation’s inspectors, and they did a very good job in establishing that Saddam was no longer a threat to anybody. They only reason the inspectors left Iraq is because the US government ordered them out and seized their reports.

They did that so that you people would never have to be exposed to the truth. That the US economy is now likely to collapse, partly as a result of the efforts to hide the wars’ costs from the numbskull taxpayers that finance it is some justice.

Our satellites and spies were watching. If he’d moved them, we’d have seen it and gotten them. There were none; that’s why we didn’t find any. You were not aware, I see, that Hussein had let inspectors in, in the months prior to the war, and they had ascertained that his weapons program was nonexistent.

Before Hans Blix, there was Richard Butler, read what he has to say about Saddams inventory then come back and change your post Ok?

This is so much rubbish about WMD. It’s clear Saddam moved his WMD to Syria. Where else did Assad get his weapons. Petro dollar – I agree with what you say here
