Increasing disconnect in the media.

Domestic press mainly stating that the Fort Hood shootings were motivated by fear of going to Afghanistan and resentment at the prejudice suffered by Hassan at the hands of, presumably, Christian soldiers.
Foreign press, even the liberal ones, reporting that he was screaming Allahu Akbar as he gunned down his fellow soldiers, was known to the FBI through blogging on Islamist websites glorifying suicide bombings, and had a long record of rubbing peoples noses in his religion and attempting to convert colleagues and even patients.
Two things this tells me. One the main stream media are unfit for purpose in this country, so blinded by political correctness they can’t even bring themselves to report in a straightforward manner a clear cut case of domestic terrorism. Second that the US Army is so terrified of stepping on the toes of minorities that it apparently tolerated behavior from one of it’s officers that should have warranted immediate disciplinary action if not outright discharge in any sane world. Of course it’s the innocents who’ve ultimately paid the price here, as it always is.
