It is causing more studies and interest in the climate

We are going to learn a lot more out of this low sunspot activity and change in the magnetic field, I believe, in the next few years. Look at this conflicting data.

Despite the recent trend towards global warming the earth might be nearing another Ice Age, which will put an end to the 12,000-year temperate spell in which civilisations arose.
Some have said such a transition is overdue, given that each of the three temperate intervals that immediately preceded the current one lasted only about 10,000 years.
But now, in an eagerly awaited study, a group of climate and ice experts say they have new evidence that the earth is not even halfway through the current warm era. The evidence comes from the oldest layers of Antarctic ice ever sampled.

Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called “consensus” on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.
The new report issued by the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee’s office of the GOP Ranking Member details the views of the scientists, the overwhelming majority of whom spoke out in 2007.
Even some in the establishment media now appear to be taking notice of the growing number of skeptical scientists. In October, the Washington Post Staff Writer Juliet Eilperin conceded the obvious, writing that climate skeptics “appear to be expanding rather than shrinking.” Many scientists from around the world have dubbed 2007 as the year man-made global warming fears “bite the dust.” (LINK) In addition, many scientists who are also progressive environmentalists believe climate fear promotion has “co-opted” the green movement. This blockbuster Senate report lists the scientists by name, country of residence, and academic/institutional affiliation.

If the scientists can’t agree and keep changing their minds it is hard for governments and people to know what to expect.
However, pollution is real and the garbage in the Pacific is huge and is caused by man. We emit pollution that causes acid rain, we pollute streams, and we don’t care for underbrush that causes huge fires and loss of habitat and the animals that live in those areas. We do a lot of damage whether we cause global warming or not. Man’s contribution to greenhouse gases is a little less than 1/2 of one percent if you count all gases that cause warming. CO2 is not the leading cause of warming and maybe a result of global warming rather than a cause.
For example, the warmer the oceans are, the more methane is released from frozen methane beds. Methane breaks down and part of it become CO2 and while Methane is 20 times as “warmth retaining” as CO2, it breaks down much sooner but, again, part of the break down is CO2 so the warmer it gets the potential for more CO2 from frozen methane rises, which would be a lagging factor.
Also, the weight of snow alone causes the earth to bulge. If we get massive melting of the ice caps, it could cause the ocean beds to sag from the weight of extra water rather than cause the ocean level to rise as much as they predict. This would cause a massive flexing of the earth’s crust and lead to another volcanic age that would cool the earth. Could it happen? Yes. Will it happen? Who knows, ask the animals that lived millions of years ago when volcanoes were more active what caused them. Ask then what caused global warming and ice ages then? The earth has amazing ways of correcting an imbalance from any source and will continue to until the sun can no longer provide the “right temperature range” for life and many other things we take for granted.
