Kissinger Says Give Trump A Chance

Former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger has warned against pre-judging the president elect, telling critics to judge Trump on his policies, rather than his rhetoric.

He said that the personality of Donald Trump has “no precedent” in modern US history, but he should be given a chance to put forward his policies.

Kissinger warned critics not to judge the president-elect based on his campaign rhetoric and highlighted his potential to shape global politics and keep to the US tradition of “building world peace.”

Press TV reports:

“International debate should be over evolving American policy, not over campaign rhetoric,” Kissinger said Sunday at the Nobel Peace Prize forum in Oslo.

“Before postulating an inevitable crisis, an opportunity should be given to the new administration to put forward its vision of international order,” he noted.

Trump’s foreign policy rhetoric during the 2016 presidential campaign made many US allies from Europe to Asia concerned about their future relations with Washington.

Trump called NATO an “obsolete” alliance and raised doubts over whether the US under his command would assist a NATO ally under attack.

He also suggested that Japan and South Korea should obtain nuclear weapons to boost their ability in deterring regional rivals like North Korea.

Kissinger pointed out a number of challenges that may lead to conflicts during Trump’s presidency, specifically the growing tensions between the US and China and the breakdown of relations between Russia and the West.

The veteran diplomat said the US leadership has always been influential in shaping the world order and expressed hope that Washington will continue to maintain that tradition.

“I hope and believe that in the decades ahead, the United States will continue to fulfill its history and tradition of building world peace.”

Trump and Kissinger met at least twice this year; once during the presidential campaign in May and the second time after the Republican’s victory in the November 8 election.

In an interview with CNN last month, Kissinger described Trump as the “most unique” presidential figure in his lifetime and urged Americans to give him a chance.

  • Stop Bush and Clinton

Kissinger is a Nazi war monger and Hitlery Clinton’s mentor…
I think this can only mean two things:

    1) Trump sold out and Kissinger knows it
    2) Kissinger knows Hitlery’s attempts to steal this election on Dec 19 or Jan 6 are going to fail and wants to get off the list of people to be prosecuted as accessories to this fraud

    I sure hope it’s 2…

Trump protects Israel and the military. That alone tells us enough and moreover Trump include former military personal in his future cabinet. In order to make America great, Trump can’t outspend the over extended military house holds.

      • Stop Bush and Clinton

I tend to agree, but I can still see potentially harmless explanations for all that (Israel: Simply the default position of Americans who haven’t researched the issue, Lots of military personnel: He knows the Bush/Clinton duopoly may stage a coup if he actually gets into office, therefore wants to make sure those guys are on his side, Excessive military spending: Appease the powerful war weapons companies by building deterrents while winding down actual war).

I don’t think (and never did) that Trump will single-handedly make America great again – just that he’s a lesser evil compared to that outright devil, Hitlery Clinton.
He’s probably still that, but Kissinger suddenly going over to his side is a bad sign.

The statement you made also includes the man and woman of the US military who carried out the sick orders.
