I am sure Israel would not want Rusian troops between the invasion forces of the IDF and the greatly weaken Syrian military. The Syrian military has taken many injuried from foreigners partially funded from Israel. The unarmed ISS Liberty and unarmed passenger ships is the desired target of the idf. Israel has not faced a real military force since 1973. The other problem for Israel is the Golan heights is very defensible from one direction and a trap in its present direction of attack. It is an extremeely dangerous place to be and the ability of the IDF is very much to be determined. The reputation of the idf just might face up to its legend when attacking Rusian military forces. I suspect Israel will do nothing unless they gety a better position. The s300 is a real danger to attack and fly over anyplace in the Middle East.
