Mobile gaming giant Nektan has recently announced its next big business move – entering into a partnership with TV3 in an effort to break into new markets.

Nektan PLC LON:NKTN specialise in mobile gaming which aims to develop, license and operate Real Money Gaming and Freemium Gaming amongst markets which are regulated globally. The company’s main focus is the consistently growing casino and bingo markets, and they claim to offer “innovative, unique touch-gaming products, platforms and services” for brand owners, commercial operators and land-based operators.

The company uses its gaming and content software in order to create new markets, attract players from different backgrounds and tap into new revenue streams. It is this technology that will facilitate Nektan’s new deal with Irish television network TV3. Using its gaming platform, Evolve, Nektan will provide the network with a suite of ‘real money’ slots and table games that will be available for players accessing them from their mobiles, tablets of desktops.

Nektan will also be in charge of customer services and back-operations, which will allow TV3 to focus on its core business. TV3 has been running since 1998 and has now reached the status of the largest commercial channel in Ireland, with an 8 per cent market share for adults over the age of 15. It reaches 2.5 million viewers each week and 3.4 million individuals each month. Its market share for adults aged 15+ is bigger than that of BBC1, Channel 4, Sky 1 and E4 combined.

While Nektan will provide digital gambling services to the TV3 Group, the network will in turn promote its new casino brands via a number of content channels. With so many developments within the iGaming industry, then, could it be only a matter of time before other companies begin to collaborate with TV3 in a bid to go global? Uptown Aces, for example, is now enjoying huge success in the region, thanks to the country’s ever-more lenient online gambling laws. If Nektan and TV3 have this much potential for success in Ireland, there’s no reason why they shouldn’t attempt to go global a few years in the future.

The business deal comes following many others which have attracted headlines recently; for example, video streaming site Twitch recently decided to start streaming live online casino games. It’s becoming ever clearer now that there is a notable link between these online games and watching them live, and as such, we could just see a whole lot more deals like TV3’s in the near future.
