That’s easy, says Sen. Carl Levin.

“Upper-Bracket Tax May Be Needed for Afghan War Cost, Levin Says”

Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) — “Higher-income Americans should be taxed to pay for more troops sent to Afghanistan and NATO should provide half of the new soldiers, said Carl Levin, chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

An “additional income tax to the upper brackets, folks earning more than $200,000 or $250,000” a year, could fund more troops, Levin, a Michigan Democrat, said in an interview for Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital With Al Hunt,” airing this weekend. ”

To sum up: High income individuals already taxed up the wazoo should get taxed even more to fund a war they know nothing about. Why are they there again?

So, how do we pay for the war in Afghanistan again? Do we just continue to borrow forever to fund this war? I have no problem with a war tax… If this war is in fact necessary then people in this country should have no problem paying a tax to fund it. It’s not a necessary war though so most people would probably not support a war tax to fund this war… So, why are we fighting it?

It is easy to bash the president for not immediately sending more troops but if we send 40,000 more troops then that will cost us another 40 billion dollars a year… Not one penny of the two wars we have been fighting have been paid for… So, if not a war tax then where do we get the money to fund these wars? Or do we just ignore that these wars costs money and wrap ourselves in a false flag and blindly support them?

If Obama spends another 4 trillion on these wars WITHOUT PAYING FOR A DIME, will you republicans give him the same “its no big deal” that you seem to have given Bush when he spent 4 trillion fighting these wars….

What good has actually come out of all the lost lives and money spent?
