People lost trust in government

Years ago I knew a couple that traveled a lot. After each trip, I would individually ask each of them how the trip went wanting to hear all the details since they went to very interesting locations. It was like listening to two different trips. One had a great time, the other a horrible time. Over the years, I began to realize both versions could not be trusted to be the truth. I stopped believing, and stopped asking because it was insane to listen to.

It has been implied on this board that GM bondholders might never agree to swapping debt holding for equity because they will be assured to collect their insurance policy from AIG. Is that true for all, some or any? I don’t know. It certainly seem plausible. So if bondholders will get something for their investment better they stay pat with their bonds rather than take a leap of faith and convert to equity holding.

I have been the stockholder that got stuck holding the bag when a tech company I owned went belly up. The really lousy thing is that after a year or so they started over again and issued new stock and the stock soared. The company would fall apart again and thus another round of stockholders coming up with zero.

I do not trust our president. The previous one I didn’t trust either. The one before that I didn’t trust either. I might like somebody, but trusting is separate from that. Oh, I don’t trust our government as a whole and thus this president isn’t being singled out. However this president swore he would bring about positive change and thus far his policies are so at odds with mine I can see I will once again lack representation.
