Power outages from storms in the Mpls area are ‘Worst Ever’

More days in dark ahead as storm-battered neighborhoods clean up.

Homeowners and businesses left powerless by the largest electrical outage in Minnesota history limped into a third day of candlelight and dripping freezers Sunday, with early morning thunderstorms storms adding to the danger and the misery.

Significant street flooding was reported Sunday morning in Albertville and St. Michael in Wright County, the National Weather Service reported. Heavy rains hit the area between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m., dropping up to 2.5 inches.
