The culture, economy, faith in government and respect for law is important. If you don’t respect the government you are more inclined to break laws. If you see even our politicians flaunting laws to get payoffs, bribes, under the table investment deals, campaign contributions, and you are out of work or have lost your buying power year after year, etc. you are more inclined to commit crimes.
We are treating symptoms when we try to make guns the villain when it is the people and government they have created that is the real problem.
Look at a chart of inflation and then a chart of incarceration. They have the same pattern. The more people are oppressed with lost buying power, lower wages, lost standard of living, the more they turn to crime.

Look at that chart of incarceration rates since the beginning of the 1900’s.
Now look at this CPI chart.

However, don’t believe that is cause and effect. Rather, both are symptoms of the deeper problem caused by the Banksters control of our economy, corporations and government’s politicians and both parties.
