Remember when a $million was a lot of money?

When you got into $billions, that was almost unimaginable.

And then along came the banking crisis and we started talking about $trillions. All of the sudden, a $billion was almost insignificant.

A number of people here on the boards have made comments today suggesting that $59 Billion (Dubai) is insignificant…some in jest but most were serious. So let me put this in perspective.

$59,000,000,000 would buy you 59 Billion hotdogs at a buck a piece. If these hotdogs were laid end-to-end, they would circle the world at the equator over 224 times. 59 Billion hotdogs laid end-to-end is the equivalent of traveling to the moon and back…………12 times. So don’t kid yourself and say 59 billion hotdogs is not a lot of money….oops…did I say hotdogs? Doesn’t matter…the hot dog is a buck and the hot dog is about the same length as a buck….so imagine dollar bills laid end-to-end extending to the moon and back 12 times.

(slow day today……wish I were a retailer selling HP printers for $25….then I’d be busier than a one-armed paper hanger)
