CHICAGO (WLS) – As President Barack Obama visits western Illinois Wednesday, presidential candidate Mitt Romney on with WLS Radio’s Don Wade and Roma blasting the president’s bus tour.
“We would not be seeing the president on a bus tour had his first 932 days in office been successful. The fact is, it’s been a pretty rocky road,” Romney said.
The former governor of Massachusetts says Obama has not put Americans back to work as he had promised and a three-day bus tour of the Midwest won’t make up “for hundreds of days of failure.”
Romney also reacted to news that Obama will deliver his jobs plan in early September, after the president returns from his vacation on Martha’s Vineyard.
“I think the reason he’s taking the time to wait for his next speech on the economy is that he frankly doesn’t know what to do. I mean, he hasn’t spent his life in the private sector. He doesn’t understand that jobs come and go and he’s looking for help,” Romney said.
