One follower on the site tweeted: “Moving from parents house to Mikage. Osaka bay looked yellowish when I saw from an eminence. Yesterday on June 11, 2012, Chinese city Wuhan was almost invisible to the naked eye as the entire city surrendered to a mysterious thick haze that covered the city in a yellowish color. Due to the sudden appearance of this weird fog, residents living in the city were advised to stay inside their home’s while most others went through their daily routine wearing masks.
Chinese News agency Xinhua reported this to be a result of burning straw. Although most residents in the city believes the cause of this to be something different than this so called burning straw incident or an industrial accident because this is something they’ve never experienced before.
“At first I thought it was going to rain. In 31 years in Wuhan I have never known anything like it. We are very worried because we do not know what it is.” said resident Li Yunzhong
China is a country that is already going through a lot of environmental issues from industrial pollution. But this is something no one have ever seen before. People in the city are still living in fear, wondering what this yellowish haze really is.
