A baby with Down syndrome is the star of a new designer swimwear campaign.
Valentina Guerrero, a ten-month-old girl from Miami, Florida, appears on the cover of a U.S. catalogue for Spanish designer Dolores Cortes’ new collection.
The toddler also made her runway debut four days ago at Miami Swim Fashion Week where she was carried onto the stage by the designer at the end of the fashion show.
Valentina, who features in further images inside the new catalogue, will also front the swimwear label’s 2013 Kids USA campaign.
She is the first Down syndrome person to be chosen as the main model of a prestigious fashion designer’s campaign.
The designer said in a statement: ‘People with Down syndrome are just as beautiful and deserve the same opportunities.
‘I’m thrilled to have Valentina modelling for us.’
Ms Cortes also announced she will donate 10per cent of the profits from the new Kids USA collection to the Down Syndrome Association of Miami.
Valentina was born last September and is the daughter of Miami TV host Cecilia Elizalde and her partner Juan Fernando.
