This Week’s Wrap-Up series of stories I call “Scandal-topia.” Benghazi, IRS targeting conservative groups, Department of Justice seizing phone records of the Associated Press (AP) and yet another sex abuse scandal in the U.S. military. The Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal and aftermath could mean a drop in Penn State’s bond ratings.

Moody’s Investors Service announced today that it has put Penn State’s bond rating on review for a potential downgrade. The review affects the university’s Aa1 rating and applies to about $1 billion in debt.

CA Supreme Court Ruling Could Lead To Cameras In Classrooms

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The California State Supreme Court has ruled school districts must be responsible to reduce the risk of children being molested by staff members. Otherwise, they may face civil lawsuits.

The ruling allows districts and school administrators to be sued if it is demonstrated they were negligent in employing staff or faculty.

FT: MOODY’S REVIEWS PENN STATE RATING

Moody’s Investors Service said it may downgrade the credit ratings of Pennsylvania State University in a sign of the potential scope of the fallout from a sexual abuse scandal at the school.

Cars.com Has Pulled Its Sponsorship Of The Penn State Game On ESPN This Weekend

A person familiar with the decision says Cars.com has pulled out as the “presenting sponsor” of two college football games on ESPN involving Penn State in the wake of the sex-abuse scandal engulfing the program.

The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday because the move has not been announced.
