Washington D.C. foreign policy think tank the Center For Strategic & International Studies took a long hard look at what it really means to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions, what it would take, and what it could lead to in a report released yesterday.
The speculation that Israel can go it alone against Tehran remains, but the specifics of what’s required by a US attack to put the [...]
Intelligence has emerged suggesting the Syrian regime has moved chemical weapons to the Homs region, a source has told Sky News.
A senior British intelligence official questioned about claims in the US that several streams of signal intelligence detailing the transfer of a chemical agent said they believed the account to be a “pretty accurate description” of what the UK believes is going on.

Pentagon spokesman Col. Dave Lapan said the jets were assigned to NATO and are operating under NATO command. They can be used when needed to take out enemy defenses as part of the enforcement of the no-fly zone.
In the last few days, Obama administration officials have frequently faced the question: Is the fighting in Libya a war? From military officers to White House spokesmen up to the president himself, the answer is no. But that leaves the question: What is it?
In a briefing on board Air Force One Wednesday, deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes took a crack at an answer. “I think [...]
The coalition military operation against Moammar Gadhafi has made good progress toward its goals of destroying the Libyan dictator’s air defenses and establishing a no-fly zone over the country. But that, it seems, was the easy part. Far more difficult are the questions of who should now lead the mission and what the operation’s ultimate objectives should be.
The US government, wary of getting stuck in [...]

Libyan state TV claimed 48 people had been killed in the attacks, but the report could not be independently verified.
The longtime [...]
