In the wake of the Flashback botnet which targeted Mac computers, Apple has removed a statement from its messages on its website that Mac operating system X (OS X) isn’t susceptible to viruses.
Apple removed the previous statement “It doesn’t get PC viruses” and replaced it with “It’s built to be safe,” and “Safeguard your data. By doing nothing” with “Safety. Built in.” A comparison of the old and new messages is currently available here.

An 11-year-old Pennsylvania boy has been charged after urinating on $36,000 worth of Apple MacBook computers, owned by his school.
Local police were called to Upper Allen Elementary School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday after teachers discovered the boy had relieved himself on around 30 laptops.
The expensive technology, which had been sitting unattended on a cart in a school hallway, was ‘damaged beyond repair’, police said.

The Wall Street Journal has caught Googleusing another questionable online tracking technique, one that will likely further inflame those who think the company is evil.
Google has been “tricking” Apple’s Safaribrowser into letting Google monitor Appleusers’ web-surfing behavior, the WSJ reports–even users who want this kind of tracking to be blocked.
Google says the WSJ is “mischaracterizing” its behavior.
But Apple and advertisers are furious.
