SHOCKING!The Social Security Administration is investigating how a $32.3B mistake by two people inflated its statistics on high-end wage growth.

by Hambone

whooops! After revisions, average incomes of top earners did not quintuple as had been released earlier, but instead dropped 7.7%.

Here is the original mea culpa from the SSA: “Yesterday, the Social Security office announced it found “invalid” wages from two of the 74 top wage earners detailed in its data.” Had it not been for Bloomberg who noticed the ridiculous surge in the top earners, this would [...]

I tend to judge people’s spending mostly when I don’t see any value in the extra money they’re spending.

My sister buys organic food from farmer’s markets. Organic fruit and vegetables, grass-fed beef, etc., and pays a premium for them. I buy the mass produced stuff from the grocery store for less money, and pay significantly less. But she gets better quality, more nutritious food with no additives or hormones that’s grown/raised by local farmers with a better environmental impact than corporate farms, so she gets to feel good [...]

"Welcome to a bleak second half 2010, worse for 2011."

With so much unfounded optimism pumped out by the MSM, a stock market crash seems virtually inevitable.

Good Morning Gang! Let's analyze it:

The overnight action was bullish compared to yesterday’s late selloff after probing the 1100 major resistance area. It is not unusual to see prices repelled the first time that a significant resistance area is challenged. It is also not unusual to see the market try that area again before either surpassing it or retreating further. The bulls were able to stave off any additional weakness overnight, despite the close near [...]
