New law in PHILADELPHIA takes away fundamental right to feed people

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The law banning all outdoor feedings of large numbers of people on City parkland went into effect on Friday.

Mayor Michael Nutter has said the ban will protect the dignity of the homeless, cleanliness of the parks, and eliminate food health concerns. But dozens of opponents testified at a City Council Committee hearing on Thursday, calling the Mayor’s reasons for the ban misleading.

Authorities widen fake coins investigations – Suspects selling counterfeits in at least 12 states

The U.S. Secret Service’s continuing multi-jurisdictional investigation into the sale of counterfeit United States coins is widening, with incidents reported by local law enforcement agencies in at least 12 states.

Philly Mayor Bans Outdoor Feeding Of Homeless

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has announced a ban on the feeding of large numbers of homeless and hungry people at sites on and near the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
