Syrian ruler Bashar Assad has ordered the resumption of weapons transfers to the Lebanese Hezbullah.
This was agreed with Iran’s National Security Director Saeed Jalilee, who arrived in Damascus after Israel’s reported air strike last Wednesday
The Syrian ruler assured the Iranian official that he would not be deterred by what he called acts of “aggression.” It was up to Syria and Iran to put their heads together to find a safe [...]

Bloomberg, Guardian, Ynet, and others are all posting in their headlines an identical unconfirmed report that Turkey and Syria have “agreed” to establish a 6 mile wide “buffer zone” running the length of the Turkish-Syrian border.
The report states specifically (emphasis added):
The Syrian government has told its military to keep aircraft at least six miles (10 kilometers) from Turkey’s borders after a deadly shelling incident left five Turks dead, [...]
The Russian Federation has fulfilled all terms of the agreement. And even more. I shut down not only the Cuban Lourdes but also Kamran in Vietnam. I shut them down because I gave my word of honor. I, like a man, has kept my word. What have the Americans done? The Americans are not responsible for their own words. It is no secret that in recent years, the U.S. created [...]

“The information reaches me through a partner in Turkey.
I counter-check all information obtained this way as best as possible under the circumstances,” Hörstel said.
He gives an outline of the [...]

Marouni: Syrian regime preparing offensive in Lebanon
“The recurrent incidents along the Lebanese-Syrian border have only one explanation, which is the continuous provocation of the [Lebanese] state [by the Syrian regime] as a preamble for a vast offensive in the region of Akkar and the Northern Bekaa,” Marouni told the Kuwaiti daily As-Seyassah.
The MP added that the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was “attempting to establish a buffer zone in northern Lebanon [...]

A Syrian rebel spokesman says they are no longer committed to Annan’s ceasefire. He has called for a UN-backed “peace enforcement mission” or a no-fly zone to replace the monitoring mission, demands the UN chief has rejected.
On Friday, the rebel military council had given Syrian President Bashar al-Assad an ultimatum to end violence in the country or face armed reprisals.
“We have decided to end our commitment to this [plan] and [...]
