Officers are already positioned at 21 different retailers to keep their eyes on the new iPhone 5. As part of “Operation ID,” the cops are encouraging customers to engrave their new iAppendage with a unique NYC-prefaced serial number (at no cost), which will help identify the [...]

Obamacare will save Medicare $200 billion by 2016
byJoan McCarter

Here’s an inconvenient fact for Mitt Romney and the Republicans: Obamacare will save for $200 billion for the Medicare by 2016 and $208 billion for Medicare patients by 2020.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services actuary reports:

“We have achieved significant tangible savings that have been passed on to beneficiaries,” said Jonathan Blum, director of the Center for Medicare. “There’s a tremendous opportunity [...]

What follows is just a quick diary to share a “positive” story about Obamacare.

We have heard more false rhetoric on this policy than just about any law I can remember in a long time. USAToday.com reviewed hard empirical data to determine the success of certain aspects of the plan thus far.

I’ve cut up their article to give you the straight dope to hopefully help you find something useful when you’re battle another misinformed con:

Nearly four million seniors who fell into the Medicare Part D doughnut hole received federal assistance that helped them purchase medications and 150,000 seniors have undergone a free wellness exam this year. The government [...]

Health bill: No one knows enough to criticize at this point.

The health care reform bill will force insurance companies to provide lower rates, the bill will also, allow small businesses to pool together and bargain with insurance companies to get lower rates, like those given to larger firms. This will equal the playing field if you will. The tilt is no longer leaning towards the very Rich to benefit.

Gist of the Bill -
There will be a New Medicare tax on [...]

You need to take a “new” math class in order to understand this health bill!

If you have Medicare: This year, beneficiaries with the Part D drug benefit who fall into the coverage gap that for 2010 is between $2,700 and $6,154 of spending will receive a $250 rebate. In 2011, those who hit the gap will receive a 50% discount on their brand-name drugs. The so-called doughnut hole gradually will close by 2020.

So, if they have to spend $3,454 in the doughnut hole, the [...]
