Fed’s Williams: QE3 To Likely Top $600 Billion

 

 

The U.S. Federal Reserve’s latest round of asset purchases will probably top $600 billion, surpassing its second round of bond-buying, as the central bank continues to buy assets until the labor market improves, a top Fed official said on Monday.

Bad news for Arizona’s unemployed just got worse

Greece’s central government cash deficit widened to 19.2 billion from 18.5 billion

Oct. 12 (Bloomberg) — Greece’s central government cash
deficit widened to 19.2 billion euros in the January to
September period from 18.5 billion euros in the same period a
year earlier, the Athens-based central bank said in an e-mailed
statement.
Ordinary budget revenue fell to 35.2 billion euros from
36.2 billion euros while spending rose to 53 billion euros from
48.9 billion euros, according to the statement.

REPORT: Government Cash Handouts Now Top Tax Revenues

U.S. households are now getting more in cash handouts from the government than they are paying in taxes for the first time since the Great Depression.

Households received $2.3 trillion in some kind of government support in 2010. That includes expanded unemployment benefits, as well as payments for Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and stimulus spending, among other things.

Evangelical Liberty University received half a billion dollars in federal aid money. One conservative college got more government cash than NPR last year!

Liberty University, the evangelical private Christian school founded by dead apartheid-supporting bigot Jerry Falwell, received $445 million in federal financial aid last year. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, by
the way, received $420 million from the federal government.
