Are you a college graduate fed up with the uncertainty and stress of the job hunt? Have you been sitting in Starbucks for days, sipping lattes and hopelessly sending out job application after job application? You’re certainly not alone. There are 11.7 million unemployed people struggling to find a job in America. Prof. Carrie Kerekes presents three reasons finding a job in today’s market is so difficult: a mismatch of [...]
From Economic Policy Journal:
Never underestimate crony America’s methods in teaming up with government to screw the average American.
The latest is a new government regulation that was snuck into a transportation bill, Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century, aka, MAP-21.
Some progress, the bill requires corporations to calculate payments into pensions based on a 25-year average on interest rates, instead of current rates.
In other words, with current low rates, corporations [...]
Thanks to fears over government regulations, there’s a massive $1.46 trillion treasure chest sitting idly at the Fed, excess reserves from skittish US banks.
And it’s forecast to reach a startling $2.6 trillion in the next year.
This cash doesn’t do anything for the American economy, say leading analysts…

The banks see it as an asset to be accessed to meet government regulations such as recapitalization programs, toxic asset purchases and [...]

Obama’s second term driving firearms sales to new heights
President Obama’s re-election has sent Americans running to the gun stores. Sales of firearms and ammunition are way up in reaction to Mr. Obama saying during the debates he wants to ban everything from “cheap handguns” to common hunting rifles with scary-looking features.
The two publicly traded U.S. gunmakers have seen investors flock to their stock since Nov. 6. Sturm, Ruger & Co. [...]
“If free checking accounts were animals, they’d be on the World Wildlife Fund’s list of endangered species,” says Catherine New atThe Huffington Post. This week, industry trade group Bankratereported that only 39 percent of checking accounts in America are free (meaning they require no minimum balance and don’t charge a monthly fee). The free checking account used to be nearly ubiquitous — clocking in at a high of 76 percent in 2009 — but banks [...]
From Economic Policy Journal:
The most dangerous and evil bastard in the White House, Cass Sunstein, is leaving his WH post, reports WSJ.
WSJ states that:
Mr. Sunstein has long been an advocate of behavorial economics in setting policy, the notion that people will respond to incentives, and has argued for restraint in government regulations. As such, he was met with skepticism and opposition by some liberals when he was chosen at the start of [...]
“The Fed didn’t tell anyone which banks were in trouble so deep they required a combined $1.2 trillion on Dec. 5, 2008, their single neediest day. Bankers didn’t mention that they took tens of billions of dollars in emergency loans at the same time they were assuring investors their firms were healthy,” Bloomberg reported today. ”And no one calculated until now that banks reaped an estimated $13 billion of income [...]

Corporate monopolies can only exist through government intervention. Government ‘assistance’ can include corporate welfare subsidies, tax breaks, insider contract deals that eliminate competition, crooked kangaroo court rulings and government regulations.
An example of government regulations that exclude competition are contracts that have very narrow requirements so only the favored corporations fit the criteria. Another trick that is used to prop up corporate monopolies is the federal permitting [...]
President Obama walks into the Wynn Casino and says to a cashier, “Good Morning; I’m here on a free ride; could you please cash this check for me”?
Cashier (Looks like Bernanke with a lisp) : “It, it it, would be my pleasure sir. Could you please show me your ID”?
Obama: “Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn’t think there was any need to. I am [...]
Over the past five months, the Republican presidential candidates participated in 13 debates where they fielded dozens of penetrating questions on every major issue facing the nation, and some not so major.
The nationally televised and/or Internet-streamed forums each drew an average of 5 million to 6 million viewers, along with breathless wall-to-wall coverage, commentary and criticism from the news media, radio and TV talk shows, Internet blogs and partisan websites.
Indeed, [...]

President Obama slammed Bank of America’s $5 debit card card fee in an interview with ABCnews.com and Yahoo on Monday, calling the charge “not good business practice.”
“You don’t have some inherent right just to, you know, get a certain amount of profit, if your customers are being mistreated,” he said. Later, he added, “this is exactly the sort of stuff that folks are frustrated by.”

While meeting with his Jobs and Competitiveness Council today in Durham, N.C., President Obama cracked wise about one of his administration’s early catchphrases.
Remember “shovel-ready projects.”
Those were construction projects in the 2009 stimulus bill that were supposed to get moving right away — but jobs council members told Obama today that some got held up because of elaborate government regulations and permitting procedures.
“Shovel-ready was not [...]

there are so many opinions on what will happen next. we all have opinions – and most likely all differ. economics is a voodoo science so [...]

We don’t control the market
We play with our own money
The taxpayers don’t bail us out when we lose
Get real! Don’t get POed just because the market is going down.
