“@JohnGrisham11: Israel Launches Airstrikes On Jihadist Targets In Gaza In Response To Rocket Fire
April 28, 2013
Washington, D. C. – Over 40 United States Congressmen have signed a letter calling upon the secretary of the Army to rescind a briefing by an instructor who classified evangelical Christianity and other faiths as “religious extremism” next to Al Qaeda and Hamas.
As previously reported, the training session occurred a year ago in Pennsylvania, and involved an Army Reserve unit that was receiving training on worldwide religious extremism. Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) [...]
Are evangelical Christians rapidly becoming one of the most hated minorities in America? Once upon a time such a notion would have been unthinkable, but these days things are changing dramatically. All over the United States, evangelical Christians are being called “extremists” and evangelical Christian organizations are being labeled as “hate groups”. In fact, as I will detail later on in this article, a U.S. Army Reserve training presentation recently [...]

“Social media users whose use tweets and online posts to comment on a military operation could be regarded as legitimate military targets.
Australian army Land Warfare Studies Centre analyst Chloe Diggins on Thursday said a recent social media war between Israel and Hamas raised complex ethical questions about who was a combatant and therefore a legitimate military target.”

From Liberty Blitzkrieg:
I have been reading about this kid Josh Begley for the past several days, but hadn’t looked more into it until now…
NYU student Josh Begley is tweeting every reported U.S. drone strike since 2002, and the feed highlights a disturbing tactic employed by the U.S. that is widely considered a war crime.
Known as the “double tap,” the tactic involves bombing a target multiple times in relatively quick succession, [...]

According to the report, Iran began preparing the weapons shipment around the same time Israel and Hamas negotiated cease-fire understandings late last week.
In 2006, Hawaii-based Pacific Command official Ronald N. Montaperto, a former DIA China analyst, pleaded guilty to the illegal possession of classified documents and admitted in a plea agreement that he passed “top secret” information to Chinese intelligence officials.
One new element of the kinetic war raging between Israel and the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas in Gaza is the back and forth electronic and Internet warfare taking place.

Egypt announces Hamas-Israel ceasefire, Netanyahu office confirms
Egypt’s foreign minister announced Wednesday that a ceasefire would begin in Gaza at 19:00 GMT. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that a deal had been reached.
The truce announcement was made by Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr during a joint press conference with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“These efforts and contacts have yielded an understanding about a truce and restoration of calm, and [...]
Hillary Clinton’s appearance in Jerusalem may be little more than a show of solidarity.
Starting with the fact that she cannot even talk to both sides. The U.S. Government has labeled Hamas a terrorist organization, and as the saying goes, heads of state do not negotiate with terrorists.
That leaves Mahmoud Abbas, leader of the Fatah party and elected Palestinian President; though the title doesn’t earn him much clout in Gaza.
PBS newshour recently hosted Khaled [...]
Iran has sent military aid to the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in Gaza that has been locked in a week-long war with Israel, parliament speaker Ali Larijani said today.
“We are proud to defend the people of Palestine and Hamas … and that our assistance to them has been both financial and military,” he said without elaborating, in remarks reported by parliament’s website, ICANA.ir.
Israel on Wednesday also said it has information [...]
Remember Amir Peretz? He’s the abundantly moustached former trade union chief who led the Labor Party into the 2006 elections and found himself, by the peculiar machinations of Israel’s ridiculous electoral system, installed as defense minister despite a conspicuous absence of high-level defense expertise. He’s the man who misguidedly trusted then-chief of General Staff Dan Halutz’s assurances that Hezbollah could be destroyed from the air in the mismanaged 2006 Second [...]

“There’s no country on earth that would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders. So we are fully supportive of Israel’s right to defend itself.” – Barack H. Obama
Well, he’s got one thing right. No country would tolerate missiles raining down on its citizens from outside its borders. And that goes for Gaza just as much as it does for Israel.

RT to Israeli apologist: “You are in effect targeting an entire population, aren’t you?“
from Russia Today:
Israel continues to shower Gaza with rockets from both air and sea, with the number killed in the strikes almost doubling within the past day. The Palestinian death toll reportedly exceeds 100 – around half of them civilians, including women and children.
As the civilian death toll mounts, so does criticism of Israel – for what many see as [...]
JERUSALEM (AP) — With little notice, Israel has launched a blistering air offensive against the Gaza Strip’s ruling Hamas militant group. Here’s a look at why the violence erupted, the goals of the warring sides and how it may end:
Israel opened its offensive with a surprise airstrike on Nov. 14 that killed the shadowy leader of Hamas’ military wing. Since then, it has carried out hundreds of airstrikes in [...]
Hamas Firing Rockets Is Unforgivable … But Israel Has Done MUCH Worse
We condemn Hamas for firing rockets into Israel. We believe that targeting civilians is unconscionable, and is a war crime.
But by any objectives measure, Israel has broken the law much more than Hamas. Haaretz noted in 2002:
Israel holds the record for ignoring United Nations Security Council resolutions, according to a study by San Francisco University political science professor Steven Zunes.
[Zunes] systematically went through [...]

The top leader of Hamas dared Israel on Monday to launch a ground invasion of Gaza and dismissed diplomatic efforts to broker a cease-fire in the six-day-old conflict, as the Israeli military conducted a new wave of deadly airstrikes on the besieged Palestinianenclave, including a second hit on a 15-story building that houses media outlets. A volley of rockets fired from Gaza into southern Israel included one that hit a vacant school.

While the missiles, planes, and rockets fly over Gaza and Israel, both Hamas and the Israeli government have been engaged in a battle of social media.
It is a battle to shape the perceptions of the rest of the world.
The IDF appears so far to have the upper hand in terms of social media, having notched up 143,000 followers on Twitter, although Hamas’ al-Qassam Brigades are in swift pursuit having [...]

In a precision strike Sunday afternoon, IDF aircraft eliminated another top Hamas terrorist – Yihya Abiya, responsible for managing and organizing Hamas’ rocket terror campaign against Israel.
Earlier Sunday, the IDF, using Israeli technology, took over broadcasts of Hamas radio and used the frequency to broadcast its own message, warning Gaza Arabs to stay away from Hamas rocket launching sites. “The IDF is moving on to the next stage” of the [...]
Israel and the U.S. CREATED Hamas, Hezbollah and Al Qaeda
The Wall Street Journal noted in 2009:
“Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel’s creation,” says [Israeli official Avner Cohen], a Tunisian-born Jew who worked in Gaza for more than two decades. Responsible for religious affairs in the region until 1994, Mr. Cohen watched the Islamist movement take shape, muscle aside secular Palestinian rivals and then morph into what is today Hamas, a militant [...]
