Richard Evans
The Telegraph
April 30, 2013

European politicians will take the “easy option” of taking money from the rich rather than raising taxes and cutting spending to deal with the continent’s debt problem, Lars Christensen, the head of Saxo Bank, said.

Asked if the raid on uninsured savings in Cyprus would be repeated, he told City AM: “There will be future bail-ins [loss of deposits] and other types of confiscation of wealth in [...]

COMEX Will DEFAULT in the Next Week!

SILVER DOCTORS:

The COMEX will default in the next week or several weeks and people will be “settled” with Dollars, no more metal will be delivered! So, knowing that “game over” has arrived, they are dumping a massive volume of paper contracts with impunity to push the metals prices as low as possible before the “default”. This way the “shorts” do not have to and will not be “covered” when “supply” cannot be obtained because [...]

The information published online by the Journal-News, a daily paper serving the New York suburbs of Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties, could be highly useful to thieves in two ways, former burglars told FoxNews.com. Crooks looking to avoid getting shot [...]

Hardened New Yorkers are ready to battle lowlife criminals to protect their homes and stores in storm-ravaged areas plagued by looting and break-ins.

In Coney Island, several residents were loading up their guns, sharpening their machetes and brandishing other deadly weapons.

Facedeals – We’re watching

Please note : This technology is not operated by Facebook – but it`s my belief that it would need to have the permission of Facebook in order to operate. It is being `trialled` – but is not compulsory.
I believe it is a very dangerous step (more on that later)

Why seven hours’ sleep a night ‘is key to a healthy retirement’

Too much sleep ‘can bring on dementia’

If you’re planning to take it easy in retirement, be careful. Too many lie-ins could be bad for your brain.

Scientists believe that those who restrict themselves to seven hours a night can prevent their brain from ageing by an extra two years, compared with those who get too much shut-eye – or not enough.

American researchers found that older women who managed seven hours a [...]

The Bernanke Bust, the why how and when

Frobes

To readers of THE CONTRARIAN TAKE, it will come as no surprise that we are fond of the Austrian School’s take on monetary matters, specifically the unintended consequences of monetary largesse – economic busts.

To Austrians, ALL economic “booms” founded on monetary largesse ALWAYS end in economic busts, roughly equal in size and intensity to the preceding booms.  By distorting interest rate and price signals and, as a consequence, creating malinvestments that [...]

Never ever forget Mr. Romney said: “Corporations are people.” That is his family, money and wealth.

But when the big corporations lay off American workers they always say: “this isn’t personal, it’s business.” United we stand, I will not join AARP until it stops doing business with Big Businesses (Insurance Companies i.e. the Hartford Ins.) who out sources American workers for foreign India workers, etc. If people would stop joining, we would see corporations respect American workers, because… We the People are standing united against this [...]

RUNNING ON EMPTY: Work Centers Nationwide Struggle As Funding For Job Training Dries Up

NYT

With the economy slowly reviving, an executive from Atlas Van Lines recently visited Louisville, Ky., with good news: the company wanted to hire more than 100 truck drivers ahead of the summer moving season.

But a usually reliable source of workers, the local government-financed job center, could offer little help, because the federal money that local officials had designated to help train drivers was already exhausted. Without the government assistance, many [...]

Incredible post: A simple but powerful way to fight back against corrupt, out-of-control gov’t

From The Daily Bell:

… A research study was done years ago by Professor Stanley Milgram on Obedience to Authority, which was a fantastic study on the dramatic impact that a person acting with integrity can have on others.

This was the study where subjects who thought they were helping an experimenter were told to ask a (fake) subject questions.

If the fake subject answered incorrectly, the real subject was to shock that [...]

Copper thieves Dallas hit Dallas Independent School District (DISD)

When social breakdown is up so is Copper theft. It happened in my city. Police ignored it then.

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2011/12/09/copper-thieves-targeting-disd-campuses/

“Included in those [thefts] are gonna be some HVAC units,” explained DISD police chief Craig Miller. “And two HVAC units were damaged and that’s $37,000 apiece, so it gets to be very expensive.”

In the month of November alone, copper thieves targeted nine schools.

Copper theft isn’t the only problem facing the Dallas ISD. Over [...]

Where Does The Greek Bailout Money Go?

Via Peter Tchir of TF Market Advisors

Greece is about to get an installment of 8 billion Euro.  I’m going to assume that is their quarterly installment.

Greece is running a primary deficit of about 6 billion Euro (as best as I can figure out).  So that is 1.5 billion per quarter.  So about 19 cents of every Euro of bailout money makes it way to fund Greece’s current overspending.

As best as we [...]
