Store owners in Shenyang, a north-eastern city in China’s Liaoning province, have shut down their stores to avoid fines by public officials.

 

The situation has got so severe, that residents of the North-eastern Chinese city have taken to micro-blog Weibo complaining that it’s a “dead city” where they can’t purchase anything, according to the BBC.

An abandoned newborn baby is recovering in hospital after having her throat cut, being put in a plastic bag and thrown into a garbage bin in China’s Liaoning province.

The female baby – so newborn that her placenta and umbilical cord were still attached - was discovered by a man who was searching a bin for recyclables.

Chinese authorities have rounded up hundreds of activists in the capital Beijing, rights campaigners and petitioners said Monday, as they marked the 23rd anniversary of the Tiananmen Square crackdown.

A  close cousin of Tyrannosaurus rex discovered in China is the biggest feathered dinosaur ever found.

The huge predator Yutyrannus Huali measured almost 30 feet and weighed more than a tonne – it’s 40 times heavier than any previous feathered dinosaurs.

Like T. rex it was a formidable predator, but – unlike its famous relative – was covered in downy feathers.
