Newport News, Va., murder suspect on loose after escaping from Washington, D.C., court cell

WASHIGTON, D.C. (WAVY) – A Newport News murder suspect escaped Friday from a DC Superior Court Cellblock.

According to a release from the U.S. Marshall Service how 24-year-old James Brewer escaped is still under investigation.

Brewer was arrested in Newport News July 14 and was presented in DC Superior Court Friday on first degree murder charges.
