Tucked inside the “fiscal cliff” deal is a provision repealing the CLASS Act, a giant unfunded mandate that was part of President Obama’s health care law.

The Law of the Sea Treaty now has 34 senators opposed and thus will not have enough Senate votes for ratification, a key opponent of the treaty announced Monday.

“4 additional senators have joined in opposition to LOST, including Mike Johanns (R-NE), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Rob Portman (R-OH) and Johnny Isakson (R-GA). Huge Increase in Demand for Cellphone Data by Government

A congressional inquiry has revealed that law enforcement agencies flooded cellphone carriers with a tsunami of demands for subscriber information last year. Carriers received 1.3 million requests for text messages, caller locations and other information in the course of investigations, the New York Times reported on Sunday.
