What did you think was going to happen? Moral standards have been falling for decades, we have allowed massive hordes of criminals, gang members and drug dealers to enter this country illegally, and thanks to ourdeclining economy our inner cities are being absolutely ravaged by poverty. Was such a combination really going to produce peace and prosperity? Should we be so shocked that we now have open war on the streets [...]
Your own administration during, “Operation Fast and Furious” facilitated and approved the transfer of over 2,000 weapons to the Mexican Drug Cartels who the Mexican Government is at war against and over 60,000 people have been killed. Those same weapons have made their way back into the United States and have been used to kill and injure our citizens and members of law enforcement, yet now you threaten to use

“When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

From David Galland, Managing Director, Casey Research:
Every nation-state has a body of laws woven into the fabric of society. As Peruvian economist Hernando de Soto has commented on extensively, the stronger the rule of law, the stronger the economy.
And by “stronger” laws, I mean laws that are impervious to tampering for personal or political gains. The connection between a sound judiciary and economic health is readily comprehensible, except maybe to [...]
Mexican Narcoterrorist Region May Abandon Catholicism for Islam
It would seem as if Bishop Ruiz’s brand of Liberation Theology has had the same effect on Chiapas as on Europe. Chiapas is poor, but it’s now also appearing to trend Islamic as any region under the influence of the left eventually does. When you kill the local religion and replace it with social justice, foreign religions eventually take its place.

HSBC also understood the subtleties of – and were, apparently, fully invested in – money laundering for drug kingpins and terror cells, while ignoring U.S. sanctions established against rogue nations. HSBC’s US unit managed to position the brand in this way by accepting $7 billion of dollars from Mexican drug cartels, conducting 25,000 Iranian transactions totaling over $19 billion in just one week, and helping Saudi banks with terror financing for [...]

If you’ve ever been arrested on a drug charge, if you’ve ever spent even a day in jail for having a stem of marijuana in your pocket or “drug paraphernalia” in your gym bag, Assistant Attorney General and longtime Bill Clinton pal Lanny Breuer has a message for you: Bite me.
Breuer this week signed off on a settlement deal with the British banking giant HSBC that is the ultimate [...]

The Spanish language television news network Univision unleashed a bombshell investigative report on Operation Fast and Furious Sunday evening, finding that in January 2010 drug cartel hit men slaughtered students with weapons the United States government allowed to flow to them across the Mexican border.

While the familiar clashes among countries echo through the 193-member United Nations General Assembly hall this week, empty seats will bear mute testimony to the world body’s waning significance.
Some of the most important leaders – China’s Hu Jintao, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, Germany’sAngela Merkel and Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan — are skipping this year’s annual meeting. U.S. President Barack Obama made only a brief appearance and didn’t formally meet one-on-one with foreign officials.

In advance of the presidential election of 2012, President Barack Obama is preparing to shutter nine Border Patrol stations, many of which are located in critical areas of the southern border.
The announcement of the closures has met with resistance from local law enforcement, federal lawmakers, and those agents charged with securing the border with Mexico.
There is legitimate concern that leaving these posts unguarded [...]
Authorities in Arizona unearthed a sophisticated 240-yard drug-smuggling tunnel stretching into Mexico that included engineered support beams, lights and ventilation.
The six-foot-high corridor ran from a store in an abandoned strip mall near Yuma to an ice shop across the border in San Luis Rio Colorado. It provided a direct link to the US for Mexican drug cartels.
The Mexican Army also found a second, incomplete, tunnel under a bathroom sink in Tijuana [...]
If recent accounts coming from some in the alternative media are to be believed, then Operation Fast & Furious may soon give way to an even bigger story surrounding the U.S./Mexico border. Indeed, even the notorious Mexican drug cartels might find themselves taking a back seat.
This is because claims are now being made suggesting the major presence of Chinese troops stationed inside Mexico, both along the U.S. border and the port areas.

Fortune Magazine’s Katherine Eban has a major scoop this morning, reporting that the notorious “Fast and Furious” operation was really focused on halting gun sales at the border with phony purchases—and not intended to track guns into Mexican drug cartels.
For years, the media has reported that the operation was a botched attempt to go after the Sinaloa drug cartel. According to that version of the story, in 2010, American Border Agent [...]

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi went on the defensive Thursday. She said a contempt vote by Republicans against Attorney General Eric Holder is an effort to block votes in the upcoming election.
Pelosi characterized the proceeding as “a shameful display of an abuse of power” by House Republicans and said it was no mistake Holder is the government official in charge of preventing voter suppression. Democrats argue that states that [...]

The high mortality rate in Mexico’s drug war has seen women progress quickly in the shadowy underworld of the cartels and they are increasingly taking on key management roles, a new book says.
“Female Bosses of Narco-Traffic,” by Arturo Santamaria, a researcher at the Autonomous University of the State of Sinaloa, traces the ascent of women in drug trafficking organizations.
“The narco-traffickers will become stronger as a result of this,” wrote Santamaria. “They will be more difficult to [...]
