“The neighborhood is bad,” the worker said outside the Brownsville Station Post Office on Bristol Street. “I wouldn’t want to go into those buildings.”

We regret to inform you, but late last week Congress succeeded in passing Section 735, aka the Monsanto Protection Act, in the Continuing Resolution spending bill – HR 933. Once again, Monsanto and the biotech industry have used their lobbying power to undermine your basic rights.
We need you to sign a petition to President Obama and tell him to veto HR 933 and the Monsanto Protection Act….

It didn’t look like a house anyone would pay $400,000 extra for.
Several walls inside the gray townhouse with blue trim were streaked with water stains. The first floor was noticeably uneven. And termites had dined in front.

ASHINGTON (CBSDC) – Minorities who suffer heart attacks in poor neighborhoods are not nearly as likely to receive proper CPR compared to if they were to suffer from cardiac arrest in affluent white neighborhoods.

If you want to get a good indication of the health of the economy, just look at your local restaurants.
Packed restaurants are a sure sign of a bustling, vibrant economy. It’s hard to be bearish when you can’t get a table on a Wednesday evening.
Empty restaurants – like those with more staff than guests – show the opposite condition.
