62 Students Absent Thursday, 107 Friday
Albertville, Al— Just days after a U.S. District Judge ruled that Alabama’s new immigration policy could become law, it’s already having a huge impact on Albertville City Schools.
Superintendent Ric Ayer tells WHNT News 19 that on Thursday 62 Hispanic students were absent. Friday the number jumped to 107. Hispanic students make up roughly 30-35 percent of the student population.
