The New York Times reported this morning that the Federal Trade Commission is preparing a recommendation that the government sue Google for allegedly manipulating search results to favor its own products and big brand shopping websites. Social media addicts and savvy online shoppers could earn cash by recommending links from high street giants, such as Argos, Boots and Zara via their Facebook and Twitter accounts.
The new website, called Have You Seen, allows members to post links to products via email and social networks.
If a ‘friend’ buys the product via the link then they earn commission, usually between five and 20 per cent, depending on the retailer.
