Californians packing up and moving out – to Texas!

About 100,000 more people moved away from California in 2011 than relocated to the Golden State, according to the latest report from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The trend can be explained, in part, in monetary terms. Even in an economic boom, the cost of living in California has increased, prompting people to move out, and, in recent years, unemployment in the state has skyrocketed.

So, where are these former [...]

ROMNEY TO OBAMA: ‘START PACKING’

Acting very much like the GOP nominee, Mitt Romney sent a curt message to President Obama today:  “Start packing.”

The message, delivered with a chuckle, came in an exclusive interview with “World News” anchor  Diane Sawyer who asked the presumptive GOP nominee if he had something to say to the president.

Romney said Obama’s “policies have not helped the American people.  They have not helped get jobs, they have not helped raise [...]

Extremely controversial post: The gov’t could soon begin random searches of our homes

From LewRockwell.com:

What will we say when the government announces that “for security reasons,” it will begin conducting random checks of our homes? That we will be required by law to open our doors and stand aside while government agents do a walk-through, just to “be sure” and (of course) “to keep us safe”?

It is a serious question, not (as I will be accused of purveying) exaggerated or paranoiac. After all, [...]

All of the workers were that fast. And the guy on the other side of the table could do it without looking….

While I believe we’re in a world of economic hurt, I don’t believe we’ll enter the next depression (nor spring out of this crisis with a strong V-shape surge)

With that said, symptoms might include:
– 20-30% U3 type unemployment
– Soup lines and GOVT kitchens feeding the masses
– Closure of most major malls and box stores
– Increased use of barter rather than cash
– Large GOVT work camps for infrastructure “make work” projects (Blue Ridge Parkway built that way)

I’ve talked to several older folks who lived during that era:
– Stretching Campbells tomato soup with extra cans of water and ketchup for [...]
