Euthanasia for children nears approval by Belgian Parliament; doctors to mass-euthanize children and Alzheimer’s patients
A proposed law on the verge of approval by the Belgium parliament would allow children to decide for themselves whether they should be euthanized (“killed”) by medical personnel. Currently, Belgian law limits euthanasia to persons 18 and older, but with the rise of autistic children thanks to biopesticides, GMOs and vaccines, nations are increasingly trying to [...]
End-of-life bill to be introduced today in Quebec
Controversial proposed legislation on Quebec citizens’ right to die will be introduced today at the province’s national assembly.
The first reading of the bill, an act respecting end-of-life care, is scheduled for Wednesday just a few days before MNAs break for the summer.
Even if it’s completely unopposed, the earliest the bill could be adopted would be late fall.

The rest of the world has found out that the U.S. government has been listening to their phone calls and watching what they do on the Internet and they do not like it one bit. Outrage has been pouring in from all over the planet, and one member of the European Parliament is even comparing the NSA to the Stasi. But instead of stepping back and reevaluating our Big Brother [...]

A member of the Greek parliament from the far right party Golden Dawn has urged desperate people in the country to “kill those who are responsible for their problems” rather than commit suicide. He defines “those who are responsible” as bankers.

Coming off the heels of a fantastic performance in recent local elections, the UKIP under the leadership of Nigel Farage continues to make waves in both the UK and the Continent itself.
In this case, I refer to a recent powerful performance at the European Parliament courtesy of Godfrey Bloom (UKIP), member of the European Parliament. For many years, I have stated that Ben Bernanke was and is committing crimes [...]
Six Belgian senators introduced a draft resolution in the Belgian Parliament that would make “Islamophobia” a crime punishable by fines and imprisonment. A person would be guilty if he “considers Islam to be violent, threatening or supportive of terrorism…” or “considers Islam to be a political ideology, used for political and military purposes to establish it hegemony.” If passed, the law would pose a devastating blow to the exercise of free speech in [...]

The Cyprus Template
“What manner of men had lived in those days…who had so eagerly surrendered their sovereignty for a lie and a delusion?”
-Taylor Caldwell
Cyprus is absolutely the template for Europe now. It is just that the template is far worse than what is narrowly imagined.
It is not the small nation of Cyprus nor is it that the specifics of the criminality that was transacted in [...]

Just last week Yiannakis Omirou, Cypriot House of Representatives President, was calling for the nation to accept it is “time for responsibility” as they progressed towards a final solution; and yet today, as Cyprus’ Famagusta reports, he believes the ‘Troika-imposed’ responsibility will, “turn Cyprus into a colony of the worst possible type.” His ‘Icelandic’ solution is to “leave the Troika and EMS behind,” to ensure “national independence, national sovereignty, moral [...]

The politicians of the western world are coming after your bank accounts. In fact, Cyprus-style bank account confiscation is actually in the new Canadian government budget. When I first heard about this I was quite skeptical, so I went and looked it up for myself. And guess what? It is right there in black and white on pages 144 and 145 of “Economic Action Plan 2013″ which the Harper government has already [...]
Europe’s monetary union was meant to be about solidarity among the many and prosperity for all.

In practice, it’s turning out to be a doomsday machine for the fringe economies that once so enthusiastically lined up to join.
If even Wolfgang Schaeuble, the German finance minister, is prepared to admit that Monday’s bail-out is a bitter pill for Cypriots to swallow, then it must indeed have been merciless. Nicholas [...]

Athanasios Orphanides, the former governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus, told Tom Keene and Sara Eisen on “Bloomberg Surveillance” today that Cyprus “will face a deeper recession going forward.”

Cyprus finally reached a deal with the EU on how to bail out its troubled banking system tonight.
Nonetheless, the events of the past week have likely shattered confidence in Cypriot banks.
In a new piece, Moody’s analyst Sarah Carlson argues that the financial crisis in Cyprus “will have profound long-term negative consequences for the sovereign,” and that ”even in the best-case scenario, where the Cypriot parliament passes and implements measures that the euro area governments of the European [...]

News came out yesterday that all Cypriot banks will continue to be closed until at least next Tuesdayand may remain closed permanently.

The ministry of finance issued a decree declaring Thursday and Friday as bank holidays. As Monday is also an established holiday, banks will re-open on March 26.

Lawmakers in Cyprus on Tuesday rejected a bailout plan that would have rescued the country’s banks but forced savers to chip in for the cost, throwing down a gauntlet to the rest of Europe over the financial fate of the tiny island nation.
The plan to save Cyprus’s collapsing banks but to charge depositors for the service proved so controversial that not a single one [...]
It appears that Cyprus is now ready to escalate, following news now coming fast and furious, that the Parliament will go ahead and vote after all, but not in a good way as even the Cypriot ruling party, formerly the only party willing to vote Yes on the Bail-In, would abstain according to Dow Jones, which means there is no support at all in the Cypriot parliament for the deposit haircut proposal.

This Great Graphic was posted on FT Alphaville, which in turn got it from Soc Gen. It ranks modern aid packages in terms of the recipients’ GDP.
