JITTERS: LaGuardia Terminal Evacuated Over Suspicious Package

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The Port Authority says the all-clear has been given after the upper level of the central terminal building at LaGuardia Airport was evacuated Tuesday morning.

Port Authority spokesman Ron Marisco told the Associated Press the cause of concern were wires protruding from a fluorescent light fixture. According to the Port Authority, someone in the food court called 911 around 10:30 a.m., triggering the evacuation.

Port Authority: Incident At One World Trade Center A False Alarm

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - On Wednesday morning, 84 firefighters responded to a report of a smoke condition on the 88th floor of the still under construction One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan.

The call went out shortly after 7:30 a.m.

But things were under control by 8:30 a.m. and Port Authority spokesman Steve Coleman told WCBS 880 that it was a false alarm called in by a member of the public.

Bloomberg: Port Authority Shouldn’t Have Halted Trains For Obama Visit
