The organizers of the Tea Party Patriots have called for a nationwide protest Tuesday against the Internal Revenue Service to challenge the government agency’s abuse of power while targeting Tea Party groups.
The planned protests will take place at IRS offices around the country at noon. The Tea Party Patriots website highlights more than 100 IRS offices where protests are planned.
The Tea Party Patriots are encouraging “anyone and everyone” to protest Internal Revenue Service offices [...]

Stocks are now beyond overbought. The market ramped on Tuesday (the 17th straight Tuesday rally by the way) because traders are now playing for Tuesday rallies.
The financial media is looking for any and all reasons to justify the move, but the fact is that the market had rallied for 16 straight Tuesdays before… so why not a 17th time?
Behind this backdrop things only worsen. The divergence between stocks and the [...]
Millions took to the streets to take part in May 1 demonstrations around the globe. From union rallies to protests and clashes with police, the International Labor Day events drew attention to the issues of austerity, unemployment and workers rights.

CNBC broke the story two days ago that PIMCO’s Bill Gross was buying U.S. government bonds.
Why does he like bonds now?
Could part of the reason be the patterns and bond sentiment in the 2-pack below?
The charts above reflect that bullish flag patterns in TLT & IEF could have formed and bullish sentiment is now at levels where prior rallies in bonds took place…

In the fabled 1960s, the cops were called pigs, and anybody on the political Left who wanted a ticket to the show knew that and mouthed it often.
At rallies, protests, and riots, people said: are the pigs here yet? I heard they were three blocks away. Wonder how many pigs they’re sending today? There! There they are! The pigs!
Now, on the Left, that tradition has morphed into: [...]

China executed four foreigners on Friday for killing 13 Chinese sailors in an attack on the Mekong River, following a live nationwide broadcast showing them being led to their deaths that harkened back to the mass public execution rallies of past years.
The attack on the sailors on the Mekong highlighted drug smuggling and extortion rackets along the vital waterway and led to a major expansion of Chinese police [...]

Thousands rallied across the nation on Saturday in support of Second Amendment rights, and conservatives were reminded that Barack Obama’s second term presents a unique opportunity to rebuild. Our principles of individual liberty and constitutional government may be a minority creed, but they are still the best principles to have. Even liberals find them compelling–when they are not hypnotized by the Obama cult of personality.
The conservative movement [...]

Thousands of gun advocates gathered peacefully Saturday at state capitals around the U.S. to rally against stricter limits on firearms, with demonstrators carrying rifles and pistols in some places while those elsewhere settled for waving hand-scrawled signs or screaming themselves hoarse.
The size of crowds at each location varied – from dozens of people in South Dakota to 2,000 in New York. Large crowds also turned out [...]
Thousands of gun owners across America have had enough of the Obama administration’s attack on the Second Amendment – and they’re preparing to take their concerns to the capitols in at least 47 states this Saturday, Jan. 19, at 12 p.m.
Texan Eric Reed, founder and national coordinator of the “Guns Across America” rallies, told WND he’s irritated about all the talk of new gun-control regulations and overreach by the federal [...]

Eiffel tower patterns can be painful to an asset!!!
Last November, when Apple was trading over $600 per share, the Power of the Pattern reflected that Apple could be in the early stages of an Eiffel Tower pattern. (see post here)
The 4-pack below reflects Eiffel tower patterns in a variety of assets over the past 15 years. Notice that the right side of the tower looks very much like the left [...]

Ben Bernanke and the rest of the US Federal Reserve bet the farm that they could engage in countless monetary interventions, keep interest rates at zero, and print over $2 trillion in new money without damaging the US’s credibility.
They were wrong. Indeed, Germany just fired a major warning shot to the US Federal Reserve.
On Monday, Germany announced that it will be moving a significant portion of its [...]

The markets in Europe continue to rally hard despite the fact that Europe’s financial system is totally insolvent.
At the center of this mess is Spain, which now barely functions as a country. Spanish pharmacies, owed $500 million by the government, are running out of medicine in Valencia. Strikes have resulted in trash not being collected for 20 days in Jerez. Over 2.2 million children live in poverty [...]
Massive anti-austerity strikes and protests swept across Europe as millions took to the streets to express their frustration over rising unemployment and dire economic prospects. Many rallies ended with violent clashes with police.
Workers marched in 23 countries across Europe to mark the European Day of Action and Solidarity.
General strikes had been called in Spain and Portugal, paralyzing public services and international flights, in Belgium and France transport links were partially [...]

The VIX bounced from its 10-week moving average to complete a minor retracement, then closed above its 40-week support at 17.43 this week. A breakout above the inverted Head & Shoulders neckline and mid-Cycle support/resistance at 20.83 announces that a Third Wave is underway with substantially higher targets. Once the initial target is met, VIX has a shot at Cycle Top resistance at 34.02 and possibly [...]

Scores of commandos, sailors and paratroopers in their uniforms gathered in Athens on the day of the German Chancellor’s visit – but not to help with keeping the peace. Instead, they staged a march, chanting “Merkel, out of Greece!”
Marching in formation, they also chanted “Together, together, Nazis get out!”
The crowd in the street supported the reservists with rousing cheers. Many of the viewers joined the protesters in their disciplined [...]
Since the beginning of 2009, there has been a significant shift in the focus of the “war on terror”. Right after 9/11, the American people were told that the terrorists were Islamic radicals and that we needed to go fight them in the Middle East so that they would not come attack us here at home. But now many anti-terrorism reports put out by the government barely mention Islam [...]
Around 10,000 people participated in the main rally organised on The Mall by the Tehreek Hurmat-i-Rasool (THR). The participants marched from Nila Gumbad to Masjid-i-Shuhada on The Mall. Despite a ban on rallies on The Mall, the road remained blocked for vehicular traffic from noon to 6pm.
The rally was addressed by Jamatud Dawa chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, THR head Ameer Hamza, JD leader Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, Pakistan Muslim League [...]
(Reuters) – Over 150,000 Portuguese marched on Saturday against planned tax hikes that have shattered the consensus behind austerity imposed by an EU/IMF bailout, and tens of thousands more marched in Spain, seen as the next country needing to be bailed out.
The rallies in Portugal were mostly incident-free, but a young protester of about 20 was taken to hospital with burns after an attempted self-immolation during the protests in the northern town of [...]

Massive demonstrations planned as Islamic radicals solidify rule
A top Sunni Muslim scholar in Egypt has issued a decree legitimizing the killing of demonstrators who plan to protest the new Muslim Brotherhood government in nationwide rallies Friday.
Egyptians who protest the regime of President Mohamed Morsi are “infidels” who should be resisted, declared Sheik Hashem Islam of the Al-Azhar Fatwa Committee, according to AllAfrica.com.

TEHRAN, Iran – Israel’s existence is an “insult to all humanity,” Iran’s president said Friday in one of his sharpest attacks yet against the Jewish state, as Israel openly debates whether to attack Iran over its nuclear program.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said confronting Israel is an effort to “protect the dignity of all human beings.”
“The existence of the Zionist regime is an insult to all humanity,” Ahmadinejad said. He was addressing worshippers [...]

In George Orwell’s novel 1984, the country of Oceania has been in a war against Eurasia for years.
Oceania suddenly switches sides, naming Eastasia as its enemy and making its mortal enemy, Eurasia, its new ally.
The government uses propaganda to convince people that, “We’ve always been at war with Eastasia.” The dumbed-down public doesn’t even notice that they’ve switches sides, and blindly rallies around Eurasia as its perennial friend and [...]

Some of the once-euphoric Iowans who inspired the nation to embrace Barack Obama in 2008 are experiencing a deep-seated buyer’s remorse over their role in delivering the White House to a candidate they think has let them down.
Take longtime Democrat Debbie Smith. Four years ago, she wore the Obama T-shirts, went to his rallies, made her first campaign contribution and caucused for the first time.
“I wish to have my vote [...]
Judging by the modest rallies in what was already hugely oversold risk asset markets in a perfectly timed illiquid ‘holiday’ mode, it would appear that, just as MEP Nigel Farage blasts his European Parliamentary leaders, “Breakthrough? Nobody believes you”. The new bailout vehicle – the ESM – is doomed before it starts as he notes “the wheels are coming off” highlighting the legal challenges in Ireland and Germany, the Estonian [...]
Despite the broad financial markets rallies on the outcome of the EU Summit on Friday, FX Strategists at Barclays Capital are not buying into that hype yet. They see most of the agreed upon measures lacking innovations as they were possible to reach within the existing frameworks. Besides, they notice that it’s still going to take long time to implement these new measures, while the major macro EUR fundamentals are [...]
