Obama: Nobody is Listening to Your Telephone Calls

President Obama today defended the National Security Agency’s surveillance of Americans’ telephone and Internet records,
asserting that “nobody is listening to your telephone calls.”

Obama, who spoke during at event in San Jose, California, said security officials “are not looking at people’s names,
and they’re not looking at content,” but rather at phone numbers and the duration and frequency of calls.

Specifically, CNN reports that an envelope containing the lethal poison Ricin was mailed to Capitol Hill. It was addressed to Republican Senator Roger Wicker of Mississippi, but was intercepted at the U.S. Capitol’s off-site mail facility in Washington.

Nearly 1,500 coffins from 19th century paupers’ graveyard unearthed by construction workers underneath Californian hospital

A pauper’s graveyard containing around 1,445 pine coffins has been unearthed in San Jose, California.

The makeshift cemetery was discovered accidentally in February by construction crews working to expand the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

The pine boxes date back to between 1875 and 1935 and the bodies are believed to belong to patients whose families could not be found or could not afford proper burials, according to NBC Bay Area.
