In a huge blow for movie fans, the streaming service Netflix will lose 1,794 films from its online catalog from May 1. The massive cull, which is one of the biggest losses in the company’s history, is due to Warner Bros., MGM and Universal moving their titles to their new site Warner Archive Instant. Among the movies disappearing for Netflix users is the James Bond collection owned by MGM, teen drama Cruel Intentions, [...] Chinese state-run newspaper People’s Daily has a long article today about a new scourge for Chinese society — teenage dating. Of course, we’re being hyperbolic, but its true the article does give an interest insight into a society that was perhaps once more prudent than Western culture (for example, the minimum age for marriage is 22 for males and 20 for females), uncomfortably butting into more Western style-dating cultures.
