In the fabled 1960s, the cops were called pigs, and anybody on the political Left who wanted a ticket to the show knew that and mouthed it often.

At rallies, protests, and riots, people said: are the pigs here yet? I heard they were three blocks away. Wonder how many pigs they’re sending today? There! There they are! The pigs!

Now, on the Left, that tradition has morphed into: [...]

Pope Francis continued his gleeful abandonment of tradition by washing the feet of a young Muslim woman prisoner in an unprecedented twist on the Holy Thursday tradition.

While popes have for centuries washed the feet of the faithful on the day before Good Friday, never before had a pontiff washed the feet of a woman. That one of the female inmates at the prison in Rome was also a Serbian Muslim [...]

NO MONEY FOR BUNNY? Could a government shutdown doom the White House Easter Egg Roll?

For more than a century, the White House Easter Egg Roll has been insulated from the sort of partisan sniping that now dominates Washington politics.

That tradition ended Monday, when Republicans started complaining about a notice that the event could be canceled due to a potential government shutdown. The Obama administration has already come under GOP criticism for canceling White House tours due to the mandatory, across-the-board cuts known as sequestration.

The memo — which doesn’t actually [...]

In case you hadn’t noticed, the coal sector has been consolidating in a nice tight range for almost seven months. These narrow ranges typically resolve themselves with [...]

Town To Allow Residents Only 2 Yard Sales Per Year

SOUTH GREENSBURG (KDKA) — The blooming of spring will soon give way to the sprouting of summer garage sales.

The yards and driveways of South Greensburg will play their part in America’s weekend tradition.

That wish may soon come true.

“We decided, with the warmer weather coming up, [...]

JUSTICE KENNEDY: Fundamentally Changes Relationship of Gov’t

During the debate of the Obamacare mandate at the Supreme Court Justice Kennedy says that the mandate fundamentally changes the relationship of a citizen with the government.

CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS: The key in Lochner is that we were talking about regulation of the States, right, and the States are not limited to enumerated powers. The Federal Government is. And it seems to me it’s an entirely different question when you ask [...]

Cameron’s table tennis table gift to Obama — made in China

It was a gift that David Cameron chose to represent the best of Britain on his recent visit to meet Barack Obama in Washington.

But far from showcasing the wealth of talent in UK manufacturing, the £600 Dunlop tennis table presented to the US President was reportedly made abroad.

Downing Street had insisted that the “truly British” product was a fitting gift in the run up to the London 2012 Olympics.

Nanny state calling stumps for no good reason

The news that a municipal council in Melbourne has banned local cricketers from playing the popular, fast-paced Twenty20 in more than 40 parks raises questions about the increasingly litigious and risk-averse culture in which we live today.

According to reports, the Boroondara Council introduced the ban to minimize the risk of injury and property damage. Apparently one ball had shattered a car window.

It is also a reminder of one of the [...]
