SECAUCUS, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) – With the traffic nightmare causing frustration for Tri-State area drivers Thursday morning, the lines at the gas pump aren’t making the commute any easier.
Filling up the tank has been a nightmare for area drivers since the storm hit. Overnight and into Thursday morning, drivers looking for fuel were met with incredibly long lines at the gas pump.

Barnes & Noble is warning its customers to check their credit and debit card statements for unauthorized transactions after discovering someone tampered with its card readers in 63 stores across the country, including several in the Tri-State Area.
Only one device was tampered with in each store, affecting fewer than 1 percent of card readers in Barnes & Noble stores, the company said in a news release on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado struck a beachfront neighborhood in New York City.
Firefighters were canvassing a beachfront neighborhood in New York City assessing the damage, but an hour after it struck there were still no reported injuries and the area affected by the storm appeared small.

Strong thunderstorms are rolling through the tri-state area Monday morning, bringing bursts of lightning, howling winds and possible nickle-sized hail pellets.
Forecasters urged residents to take adequate precautions on their way to work. Rainfall rates of 2 to 3 inches an hour are possible with this storm, which could cause minor flooding of poor drainage areas and ponding in some places.
