Hacker groups LulzSec, Anonymous claim credit for attacks on websites of 2 Murdoch papers, The Sun and The Times

LulzSec, the group of hackers that said three weeks ago it was disbanding, claimed credit Monday for tampering with Rupert Murdoch’s Sun newspaper website, while an allied group, Anonymous, claimed credit for a denial-of-service attack that brought down the website of The TImes, another Murdoch paper.

PBS Hacked Again

The PBS website has been hacked for the second time in a month, AP reports, as part of a wave of hacks that have affected companies like Sony, Nintendo and Lockheed Martin.

The hackers defaced the site for the PBS program “Becoming American,” and a “very small number” of administrative user names and encrypted passwords were stolen, according to PBS spokeswoman Anne Bentley.
