Ever been in a crowded place and you can’t get service on your phone to make a call?
Sometimes there are too many phones on your service provider’s network. Smartphones have made the situation worse, because watching videos and chatting on FaceTime hogs the network. Three carriers just signed an unprecedented deal to try and solve that problem. Overall, Misek is still bullish on Apple. He has an $800 price target, and he thinks iPads and iPhones will continue to be monster sellers. AT&T When Verizon reported earnings last week Apple investors zeroed in on one thing: iPhone activations fell by 24% on a quarter over quarter basis.
We have another data point from a U.S. carrier, and it’s only going to make investors even more worried. AT&T activated 4.3 million iPhones, which is a 43% sequential decline. That means between AT&T and Verizon, iPhone activations fell 37% on a quarter over quarter basis. Not because I was dying for the upgrade, but because I was getting sick of AT&T’s horrible service in New York. I wanted an excuse to make the move to Verizon.
