WantChinaTimes: 70% of Chinese investments in North Korea in mining

As of the end of 2010, China’s nonfinancial direct investment in North Korea was US$29 billion, with about 70% being made in mineral resources, particularly iron and copper mines, according to China’s official statistics.

The number of Chinese enterprises with investments in North Korea is at least 200, nearly equal to the corresponding number for all other countries put together, the Oriental Morning Post reported, quoting an investment consultant.
