The number of people with Ebola, a rare haemorrhagic disease, in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo has tripled since mid-August, the World Health Organisation said Tuesday, after 14 patients died in two weeks.
On September 1, doctors were looking into 30 likely or suspected cases, including seven in which patients tested positive for the Ebola virus.
Sixteen people are reported dead in Uganda from a mystery illness. The Uganda publication UG Pulse reports that a strange illness, cause unknown, is spreading in the Kibaale district in western Uganda.

What is odd about this mystery illness is its age-restricted characteristic–I only see mention of children 7 and under that have died.
The failure to detect what is causing these diseases is what bugs the hell out of me.
